Our MA Heritage offers a unique opportunity for those hoping to build a career in the heritage sector from the heart of a World Heritage Site.
We offer an innovative course which will train you in new digital skills relating to interpretation and heritage management, whilst also providing you with an awareness of the heritage sector that will allow you to develop as a practitioner for a range of careers.
Our core modules will consider how the legacy of studying heritage has direct links to inequalities in society today (considering colonialism, Empire, hidden histories among other themes) as well as the notion of heritage management practices as ‘world making and future assembling’ with the capacity to ‘assemble radically different futures’ (Heritage Futures, 2020).
You will be able to select modules from a wide range of options that will offer you routes into specialising in archaeology, tourism, education, or historical studies, developing and tailoring your skillset towards a specific career path.

Increasingly employment in the heritage sector requires postgraduate qualifications in order to specialise. This course will provide a link into the heritage sector for those undertaking a career change or returning to study, or offer a route into a career in the archaeological and planning sector.
A Master’s degree is essential for those wishing to progress onto a PhD and this could be the lynchpin in developing your skills as an interdisciplinary researcher.
UNESCO define heritage as “our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations.”. Heritage shapes how we conceive of the world around us and this course will encourage you to think about our evolving, digital world, questions of sustainability, social justice, and community, all with our historic environment at the heart.

You have to get at least 6.5 band socre of IELTS

Academic requirements:
Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce (Honours) awarded after 4 years of study at a good institution with a final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0
Bachelor degree (Professional subjects) awarded after at least 4 years of study at a good institution with a final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0
English requirements:
-IELTS – minimum of 6.5
-IELTS Writing – minimum of 6.0
-IELTS in all other bands – minimum of 5.5.
