The University of East London (UEL) is a public institution located in East London, England. Established in 1992, UEL traces its origins to the West Ham Technical Institute founded in 1898. The university operates across three campuses: Docklands, Stratford, and University Square Stratford.

UEL offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with a student population of approximately 25,000, including over 4,000 international students from more than 140 countries. UEL’s research output has seen significant growth, with 92% of its research recognized as world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021. The university is known for its strong focus on employability, with 83% of graduates either in employment or further study within six months of completing their course.

The university’s campuses are equipped with modern facilities, including the £21 million SportsDock at the Docklands campus, which served as the training base for Team USA during the London 2012 Olympics.  UEL’s commitment to student support is evident, with the university ranking 1st in London and 3rd nationally for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2024.
